Richard Nicoll Plans to Make Slick Pragmatism For Your Face

It’s no secret that Australia gets more sun than many other countries, so maybe the climate is to praise for the fact that we are responsible for some pretty stellar eyewear. Testament to this claim is the latest collection from AM, just one young label displaying commendable innovation in the task of keep our faces both safe and lovely to look at, but apparently even those who have left our shores to thrive on the grey streets of London don’t want to miss out on the fun.

According to Frockwriter Richard Nicoll has confirmed that September this year will see the debut of his very own eyewear line. The London-born, Perth-raised, London-based designer has already tested the waters via two collections with his friends at Ksubi, enlisting the cult local label to contribute to his Spring/Summer 2007 and 2012 shows. The most recent range saw retro futurism and social misfits alluded to with a number of sharp, sexy frames in metallic silver, the perfect partner for Nicoll’s sophisticated pragmatism.

Fittingly, the manufacturing company Nicoll is in talks with is the same one that makes Ksubi’s own eyewear. Sunshades Eyewear’s biggest success story is New Zealand’s Karen Walker (see why here), and with other clients including sass & bide, Morrissey and House of Holland we’re sure Nicolls’ very own frames will be in only the most dexterous of hands.
