Representatives of Macaulay Culkin have issued a statement denying the 31-year-old actor has a $6,000-a-month drug habit.
Yesterday the National Enquirer claimed that Macaulay regularly shoots up herion and oxycodone (a highly addictive painkiller). It also said that the Home Alone star has turned his home into a drug den where he gets high either alone or with his friends.
Responding to the claims, his publicist said: 'The report in the National Enquirer that Macaulay Culkin is addicted to heroin and assorted hallucinogenics is not only categorically without merit, but it is also impossibly and ridiculously fictitious.'
They added that it was also ‘destructive and insulting' to Macaulay.
According to the Enquirer, the child star’s drug use intensified when he split from his long term girlfriend Mila Kunis, around 18-months ago.
A source revealed: 'Macaul ay Culkin is hooked on drugs and it's killing him.
'He's been hooked for a year and a half, and his drug of choice is either heroin or oxycodone.
'Mac is surrounding himself with junkies and lowlifes. It's a real tragedy.'
The source, who is apparently a ‘close friend’, also says he almost overdosed last year. They said: 'Mac suffered a near overdose, and needed help,
'Fortunately he didn't need to call 911 and the near-OD was kept quiet among his pals. But Mac got very sick.'
If reports are to be believed then it certainly is a tragedy. His transformation from child-star to skinny sick-looking adult has been even worse than Lindsay Lohan’s.
