Terry Richardson Steps in Front of the Camera for David Webbs Fall 2012 Campaign (Forum Buzz)

It’s not uncommon for Terry Richardson to photograph himself with the models he’s shooting for editorials and campaigns, but it is unusual for Richardson to actually costar in an ad campaign with a model. In this case, Richardson photographed himself alongside a bejeweled Eniko Mihalik for David Webb’s Fall 2012 campaign. Richardson marked the occasion by swapping his signature plaid flannel shirt and jeans for a sharply tailored suit. Though he more or less cleaned up his act for the campaign, forum members were not amused.

“Terry Richardson should just stick to being a photographer and never model again,” ALAUU posted.

Lucy92 wrote, “I actually wouldn’t mind in the slightest if this image incited people to try to start a boycott of the brand.”

In addition to their general distaste for Richardson and all he represents, forum members thought it was worth noting that “they are both photoshopped into oblivion,” as Elfinkova put it.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Richardson’s trying (and let’s face it, failing) to channel Tom Ford? This whole thing is just weird.
