I have a Havana Nights cocktail party tonight, and went on the hunt for the perfect look. Beyond knowing that vibrant colors (like red, orange, fuchsia, sapphire, yellow), ruffle-adorned dresses, and tropical flowers accenting updos are Havana Nights appropriate, I was a bit lost on what to wear (and more importantly, what NOT to wear). So to the world wide web I went!
I feel like I'm a Google searching pro at this stage in the game, so I found tons of inspiration (including a drop dead gorgeous shoot for Style Unveiled, designed by Luxe Event Productions, photograp hed by Mosca Photo) that helped me define the look.
And in researching this fun, culture-infused theme, I started thinking about how amazing this style could be for a wedding. Cigars for the guys at the reception and authentic cigar rollers as entertainment are already trending, and more and more couples are interested in adding a cultural twist to their I Do's. And a spicy Havana Nights themed wedding delivers on all fronts!
Mojitos and Cuba Libres would make the perfect signature drinks, and a choreographed Bolero (a slow close dance originating in Santiago de Cuba) or Merengue for your first dance would really bring down the house. Vintage cigar boxes make for great table decor, and customized cigar labels (with your wedding date or monogram) are a must. And as the night winds down and you prepare for your grand exit, rally guests for a celebratory Conga procession! Your hot Havana Nights wedding will surely be one that guests neve r forget!
Would you consider hosting a Havana Nights wedding? Why or why not?
