Paul Weller and Miles Kane's fashion collaboration

To Manhattan's Lower East Side, where a dashing duo with a shared fondness for skinny suits and Mod haircuts pose outside an all-American pawn shop.

But in spite of their 28 year age gap, the two in question, Paul Weller and Miles Kane, share a musical landscape as well as taste in clothes.

Liverpool-born Kane, 26, and 'Modfather' Paul Weller, 54, were captured by Danny Clinch in a series of images designed to evoke the classic documentary-style music photography from the Sixties and Seventies.

"These images show a kind of passing of the musical torch," explains designer John Varvatos, "and you can see the influence that Paul-a fashion and music icon-has had on Miles Kane, an up-&-comer to be reckoned with. These two Mod men dressed to the nines provide such a spectacular contrast to their surroundings. "

While Weller has enjoyed four decades of professional success across his endeavours with The Jam , The Style Council and solo exploits, Kane (co-frontman of The Last Shadow Puppets and ex-band The Rascals ) made waves with his first solo foray, Colour of the Trap , which was of the UK's biggest-selling debuts.

"My partner-in-crime Paul Weller is someone I have looked up to and learnt from, so it was an absolute pleasure and a whole lot of fun" said Kane.

The shoot also spawned a video, created by Yard, to which Weller's The Dangerous Age provides the soundtrack:
