We're very excited to hear that one of our favourite RnB girl groups, Destinys Child, will be releasing new material this year, eeek!
We spent many car journeys belting out the hits sang by Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. So, we're pleased to hear that the band, who had huge success with their hit singles including Say My Name, Independent Women, Survivor and Bills, Bills Bills, have un-released material from when they still performed as a group. Beyonce's father Mathew Knowles has announced that the songs will be put out as catalog records in autumn, saying,
"We still have our joint venture with Sony and in November we're putting out two Destiny's Child catalog records with new material. So we're going to start doing strategic things like that,"
The albums will include tracks recorded back when the trio were still making music together. The band still have their contract with Sony, Music World Entertainment, although Mathew did admit that there weren't any plans for the girls to get together and record any new music anytime soon. He continued,
"It's all released material, with some previously unreleased material...I think the ladies are still working happily in their solo careers."
However, the music manager still hinted at the possibility of a reunion (squeal!)
"I hope in the next five years that there is a reunion tour. I think it would be incredible...The hardest thing would be choosing which songs they're going to do, because we would want to mix it up with solo hits and Destiny's Child hits. We would have to throw away some number ones from off the set list,"
The girls l ast performed together at the NBA All Star Game in the US back in 2006, so we think a reunion is long overdue!
