George Michael has finally released the full length video for his new single White Light.
And guess what? The video stars supermodel extraordinaire Kate Moss. What a hoot!
The former Wham star tweeted a couple of weeks ago that Kate will save him in the video: "Oh and by the way, in the video, a certain supermodel (our Kate) saves my life. We shot two endings, one with the heimlich menouvre...and one where she gives me full on CPR. Mouth to mouth. Not really:} "
He added: "But honestly, she is my saviour, on film at least!"
George explained that he had originally planned to release an album based on his short-lived Symphonica tour, but is now looking forward to releasing his first studio album since 2004's Patience.
"Work dragged me out of my malaise. When I wrote White Light, I realised I had the energy to finish an album this summer," he told Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2.
"I had planned on putting out a Symphonica album this year, because I felt so bad for those people who were looking forward [to the axed tour due to illness].
Thanks Muse!
George also spoke about Muse changing their plans so George could record in his usual studio.
"I already mixed most of that album, then I wrote White Light unexpectedly. Muse, bless their hearts, they g ave us this couple of weeks in the studio I always use. They went somewhere else."
He continued: "I realised how many songs I had lying around [from when I came out of prison]. I realised that if I really put my back into it that I could get an album out for autumn and give people a new record a year earlier than expected."
Of his new album, he said: "So far I'm thrilled with it. It's the most directly commercial record I've made since Faith. It's not necessarily my best, I think that Older is my favourite record.
"But the songs I've written in the last 20 years haven't slapped you in the face with their hooks."
He added: "I'm always terrified that people won't think it's as good as I do, but if I didn't have that approach I wouldn't do what I do."
Ryan Hope directed the exciting video.
"Ryan's video for George Michael's upcoming single, a pulsing dance number written about the pop legend's near-fatal brush with pn eumonia. Supermodel Kate Moss stars as a striking and mysterious angel of death, deciding the singer's fate with the toss of a coin. The Hostage situation with the LAPD represents his time in hospital, does he live or die?"
White Light is due for release 13 August.
So what do you think - are you loving George and Kate's work?
