News that our MAJOR style crush Alessandra Ambrosio is to take part in London 2012 has increased our Closing Ceremony excitement a million-fold. Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra will be representing her home county for the Olympic Flag handover – a symbolic passing of the baton from London 2012 to the Rio 2016 Games. As one of Brazil’s most successful (and downright hot) exports, Alessandra’s beautific presence is sure to set the tone for Rio’s Games – compare Alessandra with Boris –sure to be the most carnival-tastic Olympics of all time.
The handover will be "the most visible celebrations of Brazilian culture in London's history," according officials and will showcase traditional Brazilian dance, such as samba, and music – remember the, ahem, eclectic, British showcase in the Beijing Closing Ceremony?
Having only just given birth to her second child – a baby boy called Noah Phoenix – in May, Alessandra is unbelievably already back to her pre-baby body and has been snapped looking catwalk-ready – but then she is a Victoria’s Secret model i.e: not like the rest of us mere mortals. As well as her Olympic appearance Alessandra has been confirmed for the London Victoria’s Secret store opening (the date of the flagship opening has still not be announced but the Westfield store will open next Tuesday in time for the Olympic shoppers), so we are sure to be treated with some fabulous London based Alessandra sightings.
