Five Ways to Relax in the Sun Without Being Harmed by the Sun

July. It's the heart of summer, and for many of us that means the irresistible temptation to head out and relax in the warmth of the sun. Relaxation and letting go of stress in your life are important parts of Inclusive Health,™ and because UV rays stimulate your skin to synthesize Vitamin-D, it's a  natural instinct to want to soak some  sun. Unfortunately, that instinct isn't entirely healthy. Sun exposure, at any level, create environmental damage we see as signs of aging such as wrinkles, roughness and age or sun spots.  It can also lead to more serious consequences such as skin disease including skin cancers and precancerous lesions. So, how can you enjoy being outside to relax without the damage and risk that comes with sun exposure? Here are some  tips.

Expert Skin Care Tips for the SunThe Shade is Your Friend. So is a Hat!
The first and most important thing that you need to remember is that you're exposed to UV radiation whenever you're outside. So even if you're in the shade or wearing a hat, you still need to use sun protection. With that said, when you choose to enjoy your day in the sun try to  avoiding the direct rays of the sun.  Opt for a shaded environment and clothing and accessories with SPF to  help to shade your skin. You certainly need to wear sun block or sunscreen regardless. However, you'll decrease the damage inflicted by direct rays. As an added bonus, you won't get overheated and you'll be able to enjoy more time  outdoors!

Enjoy the Sun During the Morning or Late Afternoon
You can also minimize damage and exposure by picking a time of day when the sun isn't at its peak and you're not getting the most powerful rays. Consider the early morning or late afternoon when the sun's rays are still warm but not as direct and powerful. Remember that while UVB rays are at their peak from 10AM to 2PM, UVA rays are a constant threat throughout the day—so if you can see sunlight, you should have sunscreen on your skin.

Consider a Sauna and Some Vitamin-D Supplements
If what you're after is heat and Vitamin-D, consider choosing indoor alternatives entirely. To be clear, it's healthy to go outside.. Being in the outdoors  has both physical and emotional health benefits. But if you're looking to minimize your exposure to UV rays, you can get your "heat fix" in a sauna and then supplement your Vitamin-D with internal vitamins.

Prevent UV Radiation Damage with Skin Care Products
In addition to always using sun protection products when you're out in the open, you can prevent skin damage from UV radiation and other environmental factors by ensuring that you're maximizing antioxidants in your personal care selections and diet. In addition to eating a healthy skin diet rich in antioxidant foods, use an antioxidant skin care line such as Murad Environmental Shield® or Murad Vitalic®. When you eat antioxidant rich foods and take dietary supplements, these free radical neutralizers circulate within your body to help combat oxidative damage free radicals within your skin  created by UV exposure.  External application of antioxidants, delivered by an antioxidant skin care line such as Murad Environmental Shield® or Murad Vitalic®. can also help prevent damage to your skin at the surface level.

Finally, be sure that when you're spending time in the sun you're also eating your water to rehydrate. Heat and sunshine dehydrate your body, which harms both your skin and your overall  health.
Sunshine is  natural and relaxing, but is't also a real danger to your skin. Find a healthy balance between satisfying your natural instinct to enjoy the summer sun and pleasant weather and protecting your skin from the the damage exposure to sun can cause.
